Our 40 acre farm is located in rural Central Illinois, 30 acres of which is a combination of hardwood upland timber, ravines, and bottomland. From here I only wildcraft the herbs that are abundant, and re~introduce native species that aren't. Other herbs, mostly originating in Europe, need specialized conditions which I try to provide in a more traditional organic garden setting. It only makes sense that happy, healthy herbs create a more potent herbal product!

I simply love working with the plants, whether it's planting, weeding, harvesting or creating herbal products. I enjoy collecting native plants, because they grow easier in our climate and usually take care of themselves after they get established! Another aspect of gardening with native plants is they attract a wide assortment of butterflies, beneficial insects and birds-it is satisfying knowing I am creating habitat for them as well as supplying my business, friends and family with healthy plants & produce. Gardening is a never ending adventure, there is always something new to observe, learn & enjoy!
